The Ghana Chamber of Mines is taking another significant step in its digital transformation journey with
the introduction of a Member Management Portal designed to enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency and deepen engagement with its member companies.
Developed in partnership with Smart Innovations Ghana Limited (SIGL), the portal provides a
centralised digital platform through which the Chamber and its members can interact more efficiently.
It is designed to simplify key membership processes, improve access to information and provide a
more structured and secure system for managing member data, communication and services.
The initiative forms part of the Chamber’s broader strategy to leverage technology to strengthen its operations and deliver greater value to its growing membership.
Speaking at a brief signing ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Chamber of Mines, Ing. Dr. Kenneth Ashigbey said digital transformation is increasingly important to the Chamber’s ability
to respond effectively to the changing needs of its members and the mining industry.
“Digital transformation for us is not simply about replacing manual processes with technology. It is
about using technology to become more responsive, efficient and valuable to our members.
The Member Management Portal will give us a stronger platform for engagement, improve the way we
manage and use information, and ultimately enable the Chamber to serve its members better,” Ing.
Dr. Ashigbey said.
As Ghana’s mining industry continues to evolve, the Chamber recognises that the systems supporting
its engagement with members and stakeholders must evolve alongside it.
The portal will enable member companies to manage relevant organisational information, administer
authorised users, respond to Chamber requests and access services through a more streamlined digital
environment. By bringing these functions onto a single platform, the Chamber expects to reduce administrative bottlenecks and make interactions with members more convenient and efficient.
Importantly, the platform will also strengthen the Chamber’s capacity to manage industry information
and support timelier, evidence-based and data-driven engagement with government, regulators and
other stakeholders.
Ing. Dr. Ashigbey noted that the portal represents part of a broader ambition to build a Chamber that
is increasingly agile, connected and responsive to the needs of the industry
“Our members operate in an increasingly dynamic environment where timely information, efficient
communication and evidence-based advocacy are critical. We therefore have a responsibility to
continuously improve the systems through which we engage them. This portal is another important
building block towards creating a more connected Chamber and strengthening the value proposition
of membership,” he added.

The Member Management Portal complements other digital transformation initiatives being
undertaken by the Chamber, including the growing deployment of digital tools to improve internal
operations, information management, communication and stakeholder engagement.
Through these initiatives, the Chamber is seeking to go beyond simply digitising existing processes to
rethinking how technology can improve the overall experience of its members and stakeholders.
