The Accra Regional Police Command, with the assistance of the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET), arrested the two suspects, Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon, in connection with the murder of Rahman Mohamed, 54, and the injury of his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, at the estate on Thursday, 06 August 2026.
This is according to a press release issued by the Ghana Police Service on Sunday, 09 August 2026, and signed by the Head of Public Affairs, Accra Region, Chief Superintendent Juliana Obeng.
The statement said the Weija Police received information on the day of the incident that a man and his wife had been shot and wounded at Beach Drive Estate, and a team from the Division proceeded to the scene, where they found the couple with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom apartment.
The victims were immediately conveyed to Finney Hospital, Weija, where Rahman Mohamed was pronounced dead on arrival. His wife was referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment and is currently on admission, responding to treatment. The body of the deceased has been deposited at the Police Hospital Mortuary pending autopsy.During interrogation, the police said, the suspect allegedly admitted to shooting the couple, claiming he was motivated by his perception that the deceased had repeatedly described him as lazy and useless, which he said had affected him mentally.
Suspect Adams Adder Almeida subsequently led investigators to his brother’s room at Beach Drive Estate, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was retrieved. The weapon was allegedly concealed beneath the wall drop of Bala Bilyon, who the police said works with the deceased. Investigations further established that the two brothers reside together in the same room at Tuba.Adams Adder Almeida further told investigators that the pistol was allegedly given to him by his friend, Gideon. He subsequently led the investigative team to Gideon’s residence at Tuba, but Gideon was not found at home. The police said efforts are ongoing to locate him to assist with investigations.
Bala Bilyon has also been arrested for interrogation, the police added.
