The Chief Executive Officer of Kessben Group of Companies, Stephen Kwabena Boateng, popularly known as Kwabena Kesse or Kessben, has died.
Mr Boateng, who was also a lawyer, died on Thursday, August 20, 2026. His death has sparked grief across Ghana’s business, media and political communities.
He was widely known for building and leading the Kessben brand, a business group with interests across several sectors of Ghana’s economy, particularly in the Ashanti Region.
Kessben Group’s business interests
The Kessben Group has operated through several companies and institutions, including Kessben Travel and Tours, Kessben Driving School, Kessben Computer School, Kessben Shipping and Forwarding Ltd, Fosua Hotel and Conference Centre, Kessben University College, Kessben Consult and Kessben Foundation.
The group also has significant interests in broadcasting through Kessben FM, Kessben TV and Aseda TV.
According to company information cited in the original report, Mr Boateng was the sole shareholder of Kessben FM Limited, the parent company under which the group’s media businesses are registered.
He also held majority shares in Multi Credit Savings and Loans Ltd.
